Intermediate Sections

The topics here are not necessarily harder than in the beginners section but they do make the assumption that you have worked through some of the earlier sheets.

• Characters and Compound Words
• Online "CantoDict" Chinese Dictionary - a collaborative project run by the visitors to this website. If you haven't found this by now, you should bookmark it - it has been designed from scratch to be an invaluable reference to learners of Cantonese.
• Numerical classifiers 1 | 2 | 3 (The dreaded Chinese "measure" words!)
• "This" and "That" - two useful words to know!
• Common tone mistakes
• Example Sentences: Holidays - this page has more example sentences than usual.  As I improve I will add more conversations etc.
• Chinese Riddles - these are for children but use surprisingly hard to understand Chinese.
• Dim Sum menu - not yet complete but still interesting and useful if you are going to China Town!
• Master Character List
• The Hong Kong MTR - not really educational but it may be of interest to see all the place names of Hong Kong's MTR underground system.
• Common Radicals - coming soon (although I've been saying that for about two years now...)
