Character Analysis

午 = noon 中 = centre, middle  晚 = night  點鐘 = o' clock  半 = half   两 = two, a pair
上 = up  下 = down (Chinese often use down and up  to signify "after" and "before" as well - see 'Dates 2' for more examples
