Character Analysis

分 = 'divide' - this is easy to remember, note it is a knife, 刀﹐ cutting the radical 八 above it.
鐘 = clock  間 = interval, space between things 頭 = head 點 = dot, point, hours  正 = exactly  半 = half
六點九 etc - here, the last number refers to the clock face. So five past is 1, ten past is 2, quarter past is 3 etc.
