Character Analysis

Notice how "telephone" (電話) is literally "electric speaking", train (火車) is "fire chariot" (think of steam engines), aeroplane (飛機) is "flying machine", radio is "receive sound machine" and television (電視機) is "electric seeing machine".

Also, 手=hand  提=carry  手提=portable  單 = single, alone
