Common Cantonese Insults

This section contains commonly used spoken Cantonese curses or insults.  None of them are particularly profane and it is worth noting that exclamations and insults such as these form a rich part of the Cantonese language - enjoy!  Further discussion about this page may be found in the forum, here.
 
有冇搞錯呀! jau5 mou gau co aa3 Generally said when somebody does something so stupid that you are obliged to mock them for it.
黐線! ci1 sin3 "you're crazy / stupid / nuts / being silly" - rolled eyes and heavy contempt optional.
矇查查 mung caa caa Again, used when faced with incompetence and stupidity.
冚家富貴 ham gaa1 fu gwai "May all your family grow wealthy" - said with thick sarcasm and is most definitely not complimentary!
哎呀 aai1 aa3 Widely used general exclamation that can be used in many, many situations!
