Copyright

The copyright of the revision sheets and articles is very simple.  Anyone can use or print any of the pages for their own personal or educational use.  I would be really pleased if any teachers wished to photocopy some of the revision sheets and use them in their class!

The only thing you cannot do is sell any of my work or publish it in any form.  For that you would need my permission.

As far as I know, all images on this site without an explicit copyright notice on the page are either original works of art or are highly modified works of images in the public domain.  If you believe there is a copyright infringement please contact me.

If you want to copy any images and use them on your own website then again, please contact me first.

Please do NOT link directly to the images or soundfiles on this site as this is bandwidth theft plain and simple.

All audio files on this site were (painstakingly!) created by me - again, they may not be republished without my consent.

Basically, I have published this website for free and it has taken a great deal of work and time - I will not be happy if somebody steals my work for profit or claims it as their own!

Exceptions:

Forums
As far as I know, if you post on the forum you retain copyright for your post. This means that I wouldn't take your post and publish it as a separate article without your permission.  However, if you post useful information about Chinese, it may get used elsewhere in the site. As an example, if you answer someone's query about a particular word, your definition may get added to the site dictionary by one of our editors.  If that happens it will be without attribution, as the dictionary doesn't have a provision to enter the name of the original source.  If this bothers you (and I can't really see why it would) you could always write on your post something like "I don't give permission for this definition to be used in the site - and we will honour that.

CantoDict (site dictionary)
CantoDict is not public domain.  For information on the copyright of CantoDict and obtaining licensing information, please see www.cantodict.org

Donated Articles
If any articles are donated to this site it is likely the original author will retain copyright.  Where applicable this will be clearly stated.

Misc
The animated character graphics on this site were created by Wing Ming Chan and although I have modified them I claim no copyright.  You will have to contact him if you would like permission to use them (mail me for details).
